Mason Carter is a native of Frederick County, born and raised in Walkersville. He has participated in many community sponsored organizations including Glade Valley Athletic Association and Frederick County Parks and Recreation. Mason became enamored with politics in 2015 when he was inspired by Donald Trump and recognized the difference real servant leadership can make and how desperately our government needs honest and direct communication with the people
Having spent his youth involved in multiple athletic pursuits, Mason saw that politics, much like sports, requires people willing to “go to the mat” for their constituents. Locally, Mason found the same drive to serve the public in Kirby DeLauter. It was due to Kirby’s influence that Mason recognized local public service was his own calling.
If elected, he will serve as the youngest elected councilman in Maryland state history., Mason has years of experience representing diverse groups and communities, stemming from his time serving as a Student Representative for the county and representing his senior class. In high school, Mason’s trusted reputation and strong work ethic allowed him to be elected to more than 4 offices for 3 different clubs. At just 16, he became the founding president of the Walkersville Teenage Republican Club, joining fellow Republican community leaders in an effort to introduce Republican values and beliefs to students across Frederick County.
